Rain Gutters...Who Knew?!

Just a quick share on these fabulous bookshelves honey made for our little guy's bedroom.  I saw shelves similar to these on Pinterest and loved them, now our son has some of his own.  Supplies and instructions follow the images.

What we used:
3 Plastic rain gutters
3 Gutter joints
6 Gutter end caps
1 Tube gutter glue
Several screws

What we did:
First we measured and cut the the gutters down to the size we wanted.  Next we used gutter glue to adhere the joints and end caps to the gutters.  While those dried we measured and spaced the height of the shelves.  After the gutter glue was dry, we used screws to attach the gutters to the walls making sure to get several of them into the studs for security.

I liked the corner layout for my son's room, but you could easily forego the corner joints and make straight shelves, but honestly, using the corner joints was not difficult at all.

Major bonus: I noticed that as soon as the shelves were done and stocked with his books, my son was reading more often and I think it has something to do with the book covers facing forward and being more visible versus shoved on a traditional bookshelf.

Thanks for stopping in--go create something beautiful!
